The University of Abuja is proud to relaunch the Commonwealth Youth Programme as a dynamic postgraduate initiative focused on advancing youth work across Africa and the Commonwealth. Designed for aspiring and active youth development professionals, these programmes provide the academic foundation, practical tools, and global perspective needed to drive meaningful change in communities and institutions.

Rooted in a long-standing partnership with the Commonwealth Secretariat, this initiative aims to professionalise youth work through rigorous academic training, research, and practice-based learning. The programme addresses the growing demand for qualified youth practitioners who can respond to complex development challenges—from employment and education to mental health, civic engagement, and social inclusion.
At its core, the Commonwealth Youth Programme at the University of Abuja seeks to:
